Why Good Support Is A Must

I'm going to keep this one short and sweet, with the key point being that good support is essential for achieving anything in life. We can't truly succeed alone. Collaboration, encouragement, and celebrating with our support team are crucial for accomplishing our goals.

Who Makes Up Your Support Team?

Many of my achievements would have been so much more challenging without the support of my husband, Kelvin. He's my sounding board, my cheerleader (he'll love that imagery, ha ha!) and helps to keep me going when I'm struggling with something. Now, I'm not suggesting that everyone needs a spouse or romantic partner to succeed, however, we all need someone that will be there to offer support, especially when the going gets tough, or we feel like throwing in the towel.

It might be a mentor, a coach, or your best friend. It could even be a colleague or a manager. Whoever it is, we can look to that person to inspire and support us and, most importantly, to keep us accountable.

Find an Accountability Partner

I spend a lot of time searching online for excellent health and wellness tips. Most wellness experts discuss similar topics. It's rare to find something original unless a new and extreme diet emerges (probably read with some skepticism).

Some experts advocate for a strict approach to healthy living (no thanks), while others offer a more relaxed, fun, and balanced approach (more my style). Regardless of those differences, we all agree that support is crucial for achieving our healthy living goals.

I like this evidence-based article from Women's Health that explains why having an accountability partner can be beneficial.

So, where can you find one in your life?

Who in your circle of friends for instance, can help keep you accountable?

Think about it, there's probably someone eager to help you succeed!

Build Your Support Network

If you look around and don't see much of a support network, here's the best advice I can give: Even if you have to hire someone, find SOMEONE who will support your dreams. Your success depends on it.

I'm a physiotherapist and a health coach, and guess what?...I have access to a whole group of coaches, mentors, and business experts through communities I pay to join. They not only offer support and advice, but also push me to succeed. Without these people, I wouldn't have achieved everything I have so far, along with the support of my husband.

The bottom line is we achieve more when we have people to help us. There will be good times and bad times in life, and you need those people around you for all of it.
